Allison Loggins-Hull: Remix as Ritual

For our first event at The Land School, we teamed up with flutist & composer Allison Loggins-Hull for a program entitled “Remix as Ritual: Sound, Space, and Story.”

This program blended flute, string quartet, electronics, and media while also exploring how remix is reclamation, resistance, and renewal.

This program featured compositions by Allison, such as Homeland, Ban, Rhapsody on a theme by Joni, and Persist.

Audiences were invited to consider how sound, history, and place can be transformed into something new with the finale piece featuring a moment where the audience could create their own composition by selecting various sounds & movement created by the ensemble.
