International Debut in São Paulo Brazil

On November 20th, 2024, we debuted internationally in São Paulo, Brazil, for Black Consciousness Day, celebrating Afro-Brazilian stories and contributions. This year marked its first national recognition across Brazil.

Our host, TUCCA, is an organization supporting research and care for children and adolescents with cancer. The concert series we joined raises funds for these efforts.

For the concert at Sala São Paulo, we were joined by classical guitarist Plínio Fernandes. D-Composed performed works by Tomeka Reid, Jessie Montgomery, and Daniel Bernard Roumain, while Plínio presented pieces from his repertoire.

The concert concluded with the world premiere of Saravá, written for guitar and string quartet.

In addition to the main event, we visited children in the hospital for a brief performance and led a masterclass for a young orchestra program in the countryside. We also hosted a short lecture and performance for Brazilian educators interested in diversifying their students' repertoire.
